Both the Dun Laoghaire RNLI all weather and inshore lifeboats were launched this evening (Tuesday 22 July) when three teenage girls, who were walking on Sandymount Strand, became disorientated when a heavy fog rolled in and they became cut off by the incoming tide. The teenagers found themselves surrounded by water with little visibility and temperatures dropping.

Portaferry RNLI received a request to launch their inshore lifeboat at 10.40am today (Tuesday 22 July) to the aid of a man and woman with two children on board a stranded yacht.

Lough Ree RNLI in county Westmeath came to the aid of 10 people in two separate call outs over the weekend.

At 2:50 pm on Monday 14th July RNLI Bangor Lifeboat launched to investigate reports that children could have been on-board an abandoned homemade raft which was adrift off Ballymacormick Point.
