Arklow RNLI launch to aid of local fishing vessel
Volunteer lifeboat crew with Arklow RNLI were alerted by pager just before midday on Wednesday (28 September 2016) in response to a call for help from a local fishing vessel. The vessel had become entangled in fishing gear and was adrift approximately six miles south east of Arklow. The lifeboat crew proceeded to the scene and after locating the casualty vessel, established a tow line and proceeded back to Arklow with the vessel on tow. All crew members aboard the casualty remained aboard during the service and all hands came ashore safely. Photo: Austin Gaffney
