Portaferry
In 1980 an inshore lifeboat station was established at Portaferry on a trial basis. The station only operated during the summer months. In October the station began to operate on an all year round basis.
Today the station operates an Atlantic 85 ILB on the north-east side of the strand opposite the ferry slipway.
