Lough Ree
Lough Ree Lifeboat Station was established in 2012, following a local campaign. The station is set on the south shore of the lake, in Athlone.
Lough Ree is around 18 miles long and 6 miles across at its widest point. It is a popular spot for visitors including anglers, rowers, pleasure cruisers, swimmers and sailors.
