Arklow RNLI go to the aid of sailing vessel
Arklow RNLI came to the assistance of a sailing vessel on Wednesday evening (10 June 2015) at approximately 8.30pm. Following a planned exercise, the Arklow All-weather lifeboat Ger Tigchelarr and her volunteer crew of Eamonn Kavanagh, John Berminghham, Michael Fitzgerald, Jimmy Myler & Trevor Conroy, were returning to station when a distress call was received from the vessel which was approximately 1 mile South East of Arklow Harbour. The volunteer crew then proceeded to the location and it was established that the vessel had suffered sail damage and then mechanical failure. The vessel was taken on tow back to Arklow where all hands came ashore safely. Photo: RNLI/Arklow
