Early morning launch for Rosslare RNLI to assist yacht entangled in fishing rope
Rosslare Harbour RNLI was requested by the Irish Coast Guard to assist a 10 metre yacht which had become entangled in lobster fishing gear 10 miles south east of Tuskar Rock lighthouse off the Wexford coast. The volunteer crew launched their all-weather lifeboat at 12.30am on Wednesday morning (10 June 2015) after being tasked to this incident by the Coast Guard. The weather conditions at the time were described as good with a north easterly force 3-4 wind and good visibility The yacht with two people on board managed, after a time, to free the rope from their yacht and proceeded on their journey to Dunmore East . The Rosslare RNLI lifeboat stood by for a period to ensure that all was well and shortly after 2am the lifeboat was stood down and returned to base by 2.30am
