Irish Lifeboats

The definitive guide to the Irish lifeboat service

About Us

The website www.irishlifeboats.com was started 10 years ago as a tribute to the brave volunteer crews of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), the Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) and the Community Rescue Boats Ireland (CRBI) who have to negotiate some of the roughest sea conditions around Europe.

Royal National Lifeboat Institution

The RNLI are the charity that saves lives at sea. They do this through lifeboat search and rescue, lifeguards, water safety education and flood rescue.

Community Rescue Boats Ireland

The Community Rescue Boats Ireland (CRBI) are a nationwide group of independent voluntary rescue boats, declared as available to the Coast Guard.

Irish Coast  Guard IRCG

The Irish Coast Guard is part of the Department of Transport of the Republic of Ireland. It's primary roles include maritime safety and search and rescue.
