The Aran Islands lifeboat crew carried out a medical evacuation from Inis Meáin on Thursday night after being tasked by Valentia Coast Guard shortly after 9:30pm.

The callout came at 9:33pm on 7 May, with the lifeboat launching from Cill Rónain harbour on Inis Mór before making its way to the neighbouring island of Inis Meáin.
Upon arrival, the crew received a handover from the Public Health Nurse before the patient was carefully transferred onboard the lifeboat for transport to the mainland.
The vessel then departed Inis Meáin and travelled to Ros a Mhíl, where the patient was safely transferred into the care of an awaiting ambulance crew.
Following the successful evacuation, the lifeboat crew departed Ros a Mhíl and returned to Inis Mór at 11:20pm. After washing down the vessel and equipment, the crew stood ready for their next callout.
