Fenit RNLI volunteers had a particularly busy weekend, responding to three separate call outs within a 24-hour period while also hosting the station’s annual Open Day.

BFRRS was activated on Tuesday evening following reports of a person entering the water at Brú on the River Boyne. Gardaí were already on scene as rescue crews responded alongside Drogheda Coast Guard and other emergency services.

Carrybridge RNLI’s inshore lifeboat, Douglas Euan & Kay Richards, was launched at 3.49pm on Monday 10 August at the request of Belfast Coastguard following a report of a 13-metre Dutch barge which had run aground approximately two miles west of Kilmore Quay.
