The volunteer lifeboat crew at Howth RNLI were launched twice at night last week to separate incidents off the coast.

The volunteer crew at Howth RNLI have welcomed home endurance runner Vini Cardoso, who has completed an extraordinary self-supported run around the entire coastline of Ireland to raise vital funds for the RNLI.

Howth RNLI is on the lookout for local volunteers to join its lifeboat crew - and play a vital role in saving lives at sea. The station has openings for both its all-weather Trent class lifeboat and the inshore D class lifeboat.

Howth RNLI launched their all-weather lifeboat to assist two sailors on a 42ft French yacht that had suffered engine failure approximately four miles North East of Howth.

The volunteer crew of Howth RNLI launched their inshore lifeboat yesterday afternoon (19 June) just before 4:30pm, to reports of three children cut off by the tide near Lion’s Head – a popular swimming spot on the south side of the Howth peninsula, close to the Bailey Lighthouse.

It’s been a busy and successful week at Howth RNLI, with several crew members completing vital operational assessments — including one who was called out on a rescue mid-assessment.
