Both vessels were safely towed back to Killaloe, while the kayaker was assisted by nearby boats before Coast Guard crews arrived. The unit has also appealed to visitors to keep access to the Coast Guard station at Pier Head clear to ensure emergency crews can respond without delay.

Wicklow RNLI launched both lifeboats alongside Rescue 116 and other emergency services after reports of a swimmer in difficulty at Magheramore, leading to the successful rescue of two people stranded on rocks.
