The volunteer crew of Lough Neagh Rescue had a busy Saturday evening with two separate incidents.

Lough Neagh Rescue volunteer lifeboat crews were paged by Belfast Coastguard to assist two sailing yachts, each with 2 people on board, stranded on a lee shore north of Ballyronan Marina.

The Belfast District of the Community Rescue Service (CRS) were tasked to a serious incident where a person was in difficulties in the River Lagan near Belfast City Centre.

During a routine crew training exercise in challenging Force 3–4 south-easterly conditions, Lough Neagh Rescue volunteers spotted an upturned boat near the shore in Kinnego Bay, raising immediate concern as nobody appeared to be nearby.
