Lough Neagh Rescue volunteer crews were called into action after an 18ft motorboat carrying three people suffered engine failure on Lough Neagh.

Clifden RNLI came to the assistance of three sailors on Wednesday afternoon after their 46-foot yacht suffered engine failure in challenging sea conditions south-west of Inishbofin.

Matthew Nelson, a Carrybridge local, who has volunteered with Carrybridge Lifeboat for the past five and a half years, has successfully completed his Navigator Pass Out. This is a new role under the RNLI’s new OCF competency structure.

In their second callout in 24 hours, Killaloe Coast Guard unit came to the aid of four people after their powerboat got damaged 1km south of Killaloe Bridge towards Parteen Weir.

Arklow RNLI will open its doors for it's annual station open day on Sunday 3 August from 12:30-5:30pm. All are welcome to attend for a fun-filled day out for all the family.

Courtown RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew rescued father and son paddleboarders in strong offshore winds today (Monday 14 July) and later the same day recovered an inflatable towable following 112 /999 calls to the Coast Guard.
