The volunteer lifeboat crew launched their all-weather lifeboat at 1.07pm on Saturday afternoon, following a request from the Irish Coast Guard to assist three sailors aboard a 32 foot (9.75 metre) yacht two miles northeast of Dalkey Island.

The summer months have brought a steady stream of call outs for Dún Laoghaire RNLI, with the volunteer crew launching seven times in the last seven days.

On Monday evening (18 August), the volunteer crew at Dun Laoghaire RNLI were tasked by the Irish Coast Guard to go to the aid of two jet skiers in difficulty near The Forty Foot.
