Four crew members from Fenit RNLI have completed specialist Mechanics Pre-Commissioning Training in Poole, England, as preparations continue for the station's transition to its new Shannon class all-weather lifeboat later this summer.

On Monday, 25 May, Fenit RNLI launched both lifeboats and joined Rescue 115 in a search operation following reports of a missing boy at Camp Beach.

A new era is approaching for Fenit RNLI as the station prepares to welcome a state-of-the-art Shannon class lifeboat, Roy Barker VII. The vessel will replace the long-serving Trent class lifeboat Robert Hywell Jones Williams, which has protected lives along the County Kerry coast for more than 25 years.
