A new era is approaching for Fenit RNLI as the station prepares to welcome a state-of-the-art Shannon class lifeboat, Roy Barker VII. The vessel will replace the long-serving Trent class lifeboat Robert Hywell Jones Williams, which has protected lives along the County Kerry coast for more than 25 years.

Fenit RNLI volunteers were tasked on Sunday afternoon (19 April) to assist two people who had become stranded on a rock off the coast of County Clare.

Volunteer lifeboat crew from RNLI Fenit responded to an emergency call after a windsurfer got into difficulty north of Scarggane Bay.

Fenit RNLI will open its doors for its station open day on Sunday 7 September from 1-5pm. All are welcome to attend for a fun-filled day out for all the family.

At 7pm on Friday evening (8 August), the volunteer crew at Fenit lifeboat station were tasked to go to the aid of a swimmer in difficulty in Tralee Bay.
