Arklow RNLI invite you to Lifeboat Open Day

Arklow RNLI will open its doors for it's annual station open day on Sunday 3 August from 12:30-5:30pm. All are welcome to attend for a fun-filled day out for all the family.

The open day will feature the traditional Blessing of the Fleet, a Classic Car show by East Coast Classics, a BBQ, live music and DJ, a Craft Fair, Diceys Wheel of Fortune, Hook-A-Duck, Face Painting, RNLI Museum, Model Boat Display and RNLI Pop Up Shop.


The very popular International Dog Show competition will take place at 3pm featuring seven categories including large dog, small dog, puppy, dog led by child, obedient dog, dog judge would like to take home and overall winner.


New this year is the Imagination Exploration magic show which takes place 3:30pm. Join us on a voyage into imagination and fun. Invisible wands inspire children to make items appear and disappear creating a world where anything is possible. This show brings alive the fun and creativity that lives within all children. Enjoy magic, mayhem and imagination, in this rollicking rollercoaster of entertainment.


We are delighted to welcome the Little Warriors and their sensory bus to our Open Day, supporting neurodiversity, social inclusion and acceptance in our community.


Subject to operational requirements Arklow Fire Service, Community First Responders, An Garda Síochána and Courtown/Arklow Coast Guard Unit will be in will be in attendance.


Our RNLI Sea Safety team will be on hand running a lifejacket clinic, float to live workshops and youth water safety workshops. Subject to operational requirements our new Shannon Class all-weather lifeboat will be open to the public. Keep a look out for Stormy Stan who will be out and about on the day.


To cap off the open day festivities, Sin A Bfhuil Arís and Friends will once again be holding a trad session at the Harbour Bar. The session kicks off at 3pm until 6pm Pop in at any time to play a tune, sing a song or just sit back, have a drink and enjoy the craic.
