Volunteer crews from Lough Neagh Rescue (LNR) were tasked at 4:30 pm on Sunday (24 August) to assist a vessel that had lost engine power west of Rams Island in Force 3 south-easterly conditions.

LNR crews quickly launched and made their way to the scene.
Once on scene it was confirmed that everyone on board was safe, LNR crews then secured a tow line and brought the casualty vessel safely back to Kinnego Marina.
Lough Neagh Rescue want to thank the Lough Neagh Coastguard team for providing shore cover and for their assistance on arrival at Kinnego Marina.
A spokeperson from Lough Neagh Rescue said:
'This serves as a timely reminder that, regardless of your boating experience on Lough Neagh, unexpected issues can arise on the water from time to time and it is essential to remain vigilant and prepared at all times'.
'A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteer lifeboat crews at Kinnego, Antrim, and Ardboe who give up their free time, in all conditions, no matter what the state of lough is, to keep our community safe'.
After returning to stations, LNR crews ensured that the lifeboats were refuelled and ready for the next call.
Remember: If you're in difficulty on or near the water—or if you see someone in trouble—dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
