The pagers alerted the dedicated volunteer crew at 9:25 am. Responding promptly, the crew made their way to the scene, which was located mid-way between Erris Head and Kid Island. Upon arrival, they conducted a thorough assessment of the situation and successfully established a secure tow for the troubled vessel.

The skilled crew of the lifeboat managed to tow the fishing vessel safely, ensuring the well-being of its two crew members. They navigated the boat to secure moorings near Ballyglass.

The rescue operation was aided by favorable weather conditions, with slack southeast winds, a swell of 1.5 meters, and moderate visibility. These conditions allowed the crew to efficiently carry out the tow and escort the vessel to safety.

After completing the callout, the lifeboat returned to the station, with the entire operation concluding smoothly. The lifeboat was ready for service once again by 11:25 am.

Remember if you see someone in difficulty or think they may be in difficulty immediately dial 112/999 and ask for the Irish Coast Guard it could save a life.
