Crosshaven RNLI go to the aid of two people on vessel with fouled propeller

On the evening of Tuesday, 24 February, the Valentia Coast Guard received a call for assistance at 9:15 pm. Responding promptly, the dedicated volunteers of Crosshaven RNLI were tasked to aid a vessel experiencing a propeller entanglement near Glenmore Beach.

The inshore lifeboat was swiftly launched to the location of the 21-foot Arvor angling boat, which was reported to be anchored with two individuals aboard.


Upon reaching the distressed vessel, the crew of the lifeboat established a tow and safely transported the vessel and its occupants to the Camber in Cobh.


Following the callout, the inshore lifeboat returned to station where it was was washed down refuelled and declared ready for service once more at 11.30pm.
