A busy couple of weeks of training and assessments recently took place at the RNLI station on Arranmore, highlighting the dedication and commitment of the volunteer crew who continue to answer the call when emergencies arise at sea.

Several crew members successfully completed important assessments and training milestones over the past fortnight. Joe Doherty undertook a Tier 1 crew assessment, while JJ O’Donnell completed a Tier 2 crew assessment. Coxswain Kieran O’Donnell also attended and passed a Local Trainer Assessor (LTA) course, meaning he is now qualified to assess Tier 1 crew members at the station.

Meanwhile, semi-resident relief coxswain Trevor Deveraux completed a mechanics assessment at the station, adding further strength and expertise to the operational team. To cap off an already successful period for the station, new crew member Bernard O’Donnell received his pager and is now officially ready to answer the call alongside the rest of the volunteer crew.

Training remains a vital component of operations at every RNLI station, ensuring crews are fully prepared, competent and ready to respond to all types of emergencies whenever the pagers sound.

Congratulations go to all volunteers on their recent pass-outs and achievements across the various levels of training. Their ongoing commitment, professionalism and dedication to saving lives at sea continue to make the local community proud.
