Killaloe Coast Guard Assists Stranded Jet Ski on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard came to the assistance of two people after their jet ski suffered engine failure on Lough Derg on Monday evening.
At 9.40pm, while the unit was carrying out a scheduled training exercise in the direction of Parteen Weir, the rescue boat crew was flagged down by the occupants of a jet ski experiencing engine difficulties south of Killaloe.
The crew immediately contacted the Coast Guard's Marine Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Valentia to advise that they had been requested to assist.
The two occupants were taken safely aboard the rescue boat while the disabled jet ski was placed under tow and brought back to Ballina slipway. A shore-based Coast Guard team was on hand to assist with the safe recovery of the watercraft from the water.
With the incident successfully concluded, the unit stood down at 10.10pm and returned to base, bringing the callout to a safe conclusion.
