Ballyglass RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat was requested to launch following reports of a vessel taking on water in Broadhaven Bay.

The alarm was raised at approximately 7.02am on Thursday, 15 May, with the vessel located around two nautical miles north east of Ballyglass Lighthouse.
The lifeboat crew launched promptly and made their way to the scene to assess the situation. Upon arrival, it was established that the vessel was not in immediate danger and that those on board had the situation under control.
Following the assessment, both craft returned safely to Ballyglass Harbour, with the all-weather lifeboat refuelled and made ready again for service by 8.00am.
The public is reminded that if they see anyone in difficulty on or near the water, they should dial 112 or 999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
