The volunteer crew of the Corrib Mask Search and Rescue CRBI were tasked on Sunday morning (22 June) to go to the aid of a vessel in difficulty on Lough Corrib.

The boat experienced engine trouble and the skipper made it to shore on one of the islands. They then called 999 and asked for assistance.
The lifeboat crew launched from the base in Cong and were on scene in good time. A tow line was established and the Boat and skipper were safely brought back to shore and the crew returned to base.
A spokesperson for Corrib Mask Search and Rescue said:
"Well done to all involved and to the skipper for calling early and having all the right safety equipment. Remember if you get into difficulty call 999/112 and ask for The Coast Guard who will dispatch the necessary services to help you".
