At 6:48 pm on Thursday 25 September, the volunteer crew at Courtown RNLI lifeboat station were requested to launch following a report that a member of the public saw what was thought to be a paddleboard in distress.

Courtown's D class inshore lifeboat Terry was launched and proceeded to the last known location of the reported casualty.
Upon arrival it turned out to be a small fishing boat and once the lifeboat crew confirmed that everyone was ok, the lifeboat returned to the station to be prepared for the next tasking.
Remember: If you're in difficulty on or near the water—or if you see someone in trouble—dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
