Crosshaven Coast Guard tasked in multi-agency operation

Shortly after 8pm on Tuesday (2 September), Crosshaven Coast Guard were tasked as part of a multi-agency operation to a jet ski with two persons in difficulty at Lough Mahon.

The Crosshaven RNLI inshore lifeboat launched, while the National Ambulance Service and Cork City Fire Brigade were tasked to the scene.


One casualty had made his way ashore and was treated by the National Ambulance Service and was taken away to Cork University Hospital for further treatment.


The second casualty & jet ski was rescued by the Crosshaven RNLI inshore lifeboat and transferred to Crosshaven Coast Guard at Marine point in Ringaskiddy.


Once at Marine point, the second casualty was assessed by the National Ambulance Service and was deemed fit to travel home with his family whilst Crosshaven Coast Guard recovered the Jet Ski.
