For the second time in two days, Crosshaven RNLI volunteers quickly arrived at the station and launched their Atlantic 85 class inshore lifeboat.

The 10m yacht with 5 people on board was dismasted and the westerly F6 winds were blowing the yacht into shallow water.

The crew decided the priority was to establish a tow of the yacht to more sheltered waters where the mast, rigging and sails were retrieved onboard by the yachts crew.

Once all lines were clear, the yacht was able to start engines and make way to the marina, escorted by the lifeboat.

The lifeboat returned to station, refuelled and washed down before being declared ready for service once more at 9:35pm.

Remember: If you're in difficulty on or near the water—or if you see someone in trouble—dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
