The Inchydoney Community Lifeboat, Réalt na hInse, will return to operational service over the upcoming June Bank Holiday weekend, providing additional water safety support at Inchydoney Beach alongside Cork County Council Beachguards.

The volunteer lifeboat service, which was established in 1970, is preparing for the start of what is expected to be a busy summer season. Patrols will commence at 10:30am on Saturday morning and continue daily until 7:00pm.

Entirely funded by the local community, the lifeboat service has played a vital role in supporting beach safety at one of Cork's most popular coastal destinations for more than five decades. The return of Réalt na hInse marks the beginning of another season of dedicated volunteer service aimed at assisting beachgoers and promoting water safety.

Members of the lifeboat crew said they are looking forward to a sunny and safe summer bathing season and to seeing visitors and local residents enjoying the beach responsibly.

As beach attendance increases over the holiday weekend and throughout the summer months, the public is being reminded to follow the advice of lifeguards at all times and to swim only between the designated red and yellow flags.

The organisation also emphasised the importance of maintaining vigilance on and near the water, with safety remaining the top priority for all beach users.

With patrols resuming this weekend, the Inchydoney Community Lifeboat service stands ready to support emergency response efforts and help ensure a safe environment for everyone visiting the coastline this summer.
