Without delay, lifeboat crews from the Ardboe, Kinnego, and Antrim Stations were launched. Demonstrating remarkable coordination and speed, they were able to quickly locate and recover the casualties from the water. The affected individuals were safely transported to Battery Harbour for further assistance.

Upon reaching Battery Harbour, LNR crews provided essential casualty care at the scene, ensuring the individuals received immediate attention. Their efforts were supported by the timely arrival of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, which took over the medical treatment of the casualties.

This successful rescue operation was made possible thanks to the dedication and collaboration of multiple teams:

  • Lough Neagh Coastguard Rescue Team

  • LNR Volunteer crews from Ardboe, Kinnego, and Antrim Stations

Their swift response and teamwork were crucial in this early morning rescue operation.
