Bank holiday call out for Ballyglass RNLI to assist 2 swimmers in Elly Bay

The volunteer crew at Ballyglass lifeboat station were requested to launch their inshore lifeboat (ILB) by Malin Head Coast Guard yesterday (Monday 04/08/25) at 9:18pm to assist 2 swimmers in Elly Bay.

The volunteer crew immediately headed south ready to come to the assistance of the swimmers.
The ILB had just arrived on scene when Malin Head radio relayed that both swimmers had made it safety to shore and so the volunteer crew were stood down.
The Ballyglass Coast Guard Unit were also on scene to assist the swimmers.
The lifeboat was returned to base and was ready again for service at 10pm.
