The lifeboat launched at 9.48pm on 12 June at the request of Belfast Coastguard following reports that a personal water craft had suffered mechanical difficulties approximately one mile downstream of Carrybridge.

The volunteer crew quickly located the casualties and their disabled craft and carried out an assessment. Fortunately, both individuals were found safe and well, with no injuries reported.

After securing the personal water craft, the crew brought both casualties back to Carrybridge Lifeboat Station. On arrival, they were assisted ashore by members of the Lough Erne Coastguard Rescue Team.

The incident concluded without further difficulty, and the lifeboat was subsequently recovered and made ready for service.

Carrybridge Lifeboat remains on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond to emergencies across the Lough Erne waterway.

If you see someone in difficulty on the water or along the shoreline, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
