The volunteer crew at Corrib Mask Search and Rescue were requested to launch at 3:50pm (Tuesday 5 August) by the Irish Coast Guard to go to the aid of a boat taking on water close to Inchagoill Island on Lough Corrib.

Volunteers quickly launched 2 boats from Lisloughrey Pier and made their way to the location. All people on board were successfully transferred back to shore. The volunteer crew then returned to tow the boat back to shore.
A spokesperson for Corrib Mask Search and Rescue said:
'We thank the local fisherman who assisted us on scene and our colleagues in Rescue 115'.
A successful outcome thankfully and mainly due to them making an early call to 999 and asking for the coastguard'.
'We thank our volunteers who as always responded so promptly and professionally to the call'.
