Courtown RNLI launch to aid crew on sailing vessel

Courtown RNLI was requested to launch to assist the crew of a sailing vessel off the north beach on Saturday afternoon (3 May).
The sailing vessel has encountered engine difficulties.
The conditions were favourable with sunny skies and a slight wind at the time. The lifeboat launched at approximately 4pm and the crew were making their way to the yacht when they received an update via radio contact informing them that the yacht crew had managed to fix their engine and no longer needed assistance from the lifeboat.
The lifeboat returned to station where there were plenty of shore crew to assist with washing the boat and leaving it ready for the next call out.
