Killaloe Coast Guard responded to a vessel in difficulty on Tuesday evening after reports of engine failure south of Killaloe Bridge.

The alarm was raised at approximately 8:15pm on 26 May when the vessel, carrying two persons on board, began drifting south towards Ballina slipway following engine trouble.
A Coast Guard boat crew launched from Pier Head and quickly located the casualty vessel on the Tipperary shoreline, south of the old Ballina/Killaloe bridge.
The vessel was subsequently taken under tow by the Coast Guard crew. Assisted by a shore team, the casualty vessel was safely brought to the public jetty in Killaloe and securely moored without incident.
The operation concluded at 9:15pm when the crew returned to base.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
