Unit members were alerted at 09:45am following a request from the Irish Coast Guard. A crew launched from the Pier Head at Killaloe and located the vessel 1km north of Killaloe.

The skipper of the vessel had dropped anchor to prevent the vessel from drifting aground.

Once alongside a Coast Guard crew member was transferred on board the causality vessel and a tow line was set up.

The vessel was taken on tow back to Killaloe where a shore team were on hand to assist in the safe mooring of the vessel.

At 10:30am crew members returned to base and stood down.

Remember: If you're in difficulty on or near the water—or if you see someone in trouble—dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
