Multi-Agency Response in Search for Missing Person in Cobh

Crosshaven RNLI was requested to assist alongside Guileen Coast Guard Unit and Cobh Gardaí in a search for a reported missing person in the Cobh area on Friday evening.
At 7:15 pm, Guileen Coast Guard Unit was tasked following reports of a missing person. On arrival at the scene, the Coast Guard team received a briefing from Cobh Gardaí before commencing a coordinated search over a wide area.
Crosshaven RNLI launched to assist with the operation, carrying out a shoreline search while the Coast Guard continued searching on land. The multi-agency response ensured a thorough search of the area.
Thankfully, the missing person was located safe and well, bringing the incident to a positive conclusion.
The Irish Coast Guard would like to remind the public that if you see someone in difficulty on the coast or at sea, or if you think someone is missing, call 999 or 112 immediately and ask for the Coast Guard. Early notification allows the appropriate emergency services to respond quickly and can make a significant difference in protecting lives.
