The fisherman, experiencing engine failure, managed to raise the alarm using his mobile phone. Despite the precarious situation, he was able to contact Belfast Coastguard, who promptly coordinated the rescue operation. The Coastguard played a crucial role in guiding the efforts to locate and aid the stranded vessel.

Facing uncertainty about the exact location of the fisherman, the dedicated volunteer Lifeboat crew embarked on a search mission. They initiated their search from Cushendun, moving northwards to locate the vessel. The crew's expertise and perseverance paid off when they successfully found the boat approximately three miles off the coast, to the northeast of Torr Head.

With the boat located, the Lifeboat crew acted swiftly to ensure the safety of the fisherman. They safely towed the distressed vessel back to the harbour at Cushendun.

Remember if you see someone in difficulty please call 112/999 and ask for Coast Guard.
