Bantry Inshore Search & Rescue Association tasked to the aid of a broken down powerboat

Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue Association CRBI unit launched on Tuesday evening (19 August) following reports of a powerboat broken down near the cove at the end of Bantry Bay.

BISRA volunteers, responded and quickly launched to tha aid of the vessel, last reported 4 nautical miles west of Gotnakila pier.


Two people onboard the powerboat were found safe and well and wearing life jackets.


After assessing the situation, the vessel was taken safely on tow to Gerahies harbour.


Remember: If you're in difficulty on or near the water—or if you see someone in trouble—dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
