At 3:55pm on Saturday 23 August, the volunteer crew at Red Bay RNLI were requested to go to the assistance of a 13m yacht which had suffered engine failure 4 miles East of Rathlin Island.

The vessel with a crew of three on board was on passage to Scotland and was drifting near the busy shipping separation zone.
The volunteer safely towed the vessel to Ballycastle Harbour and returned to station at 7:15pm
On Friday 21nd August the crew were launched after a emergency location signal from a fishing boat was picked up by Belfast Coastguard near Rathlin Island.
It was quickly confirmed that this was an accidental activation and the Lifeboat crew returned to Cushendall.
Red Bay RNLI supported the very successful GOAT triathlon competition in Cushendall which say 170 competitors taking to the water.
