At approximately 10pm, the Killaloe Coast Guard unit, alongside Rescue 115 from Shannon, were tasked to respond after An Garda Síochána received reports that an individual may have entered the water near the Ballina/Killaloe region.

Two Coast Guard boat crews were quickly deployed, launching from Pier Head just south of Killaloe Bridge. They conducted thorough water searches extending towards Parteen Weir. Meanwhile, shore teams carried out detailed sweeps along jetties and among boats moored throughout the area.

Rescue 115 arrived on scene within minutes of the alert being raised, significantly enhancing the search effort. The helicopter crew conducted aerial searches both north and south of the Killaloe bridges, working in close coordination with teams on the water and shoreline.

The operation concluded at approximately 11:35pm when all units were stood down. An Garda Síochána confirmed that the missing person had been located safe and well, bringing a positive end to what had been an urgent and extensive search effort.
