Two long-serving volunteers from Galway RNLI have been recognised for 30 years of dedicated service, while a third crew member received a 20-year long service award at a recent RNLI volunteer recognition ceremony.

A lone kayaker was rescued by Red Bay RNLI late on Sunday night after getting into difficulty in heavy sea swells around one and a half miles north of Cushendun.

Ballinskelligs Inshore Rescue responded alongside An Garda Síochána and the Iveragh Coast Guard to assist in the search for a reported missing person at Ballinskelligs Beach.
