Newcastle and Kilkeel RNLI responded to a false alarm with good intent last night after flares were sighted off the County Down coast.

Skerries RNLI were tasked by Dublin Coast Guard to investigate an activation of a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) south west of Rockabill lighthouse.
