Ballinskelligs Inshore Rescue (BIR) has taken another significant step forward in its lifesaving capabilities with the commissioning of a brand-new launch system, purpose-built for its 7-metre Excalibre RIB.

Ballinskelligs Inshore Rescue responded alongside An Garda Síochána and the Iveragh Coast Guard to assist in the search for a reported missing person at Ballinskelligs Beach. The incident concluded with a positive outcome, following what had already been a busy day for the volunteer crew providing safety cover at the Hardman Ireland Triathlon in Waterville.

Ballinskelligs Inshore Rescue is appealing for cyclists to take part in the 2026 Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle and help raise vital funds for one of Ireland’s busiest volunteer maritime rescue services.
