Wexford RNLI's volunteer crew launched their inshore lifeboat on Saturday afternoon after reports of a capsized vessel and a person in the water on the Ferrybank side of the River Slaney.

A husband-and-wife team from Wexford RNLI has been recognised for their remarkable combined 60 years of voluntary service to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

A small but dedicated group of volunteers from North Kildare RNLI have raised €117,000 to fund a new D class inshore lifeboat for Wexford RNLI. The new lifeboat is to be named Cill Dara in recognition of the inland branch’s efforts to save lives at sea.

Wexford RNLI came to the aid of a teenager who got cut off by the rising tide while swimming to a raft on Friday afternoon, thanks to the quick thinking of his friend ashore, possibly preventing a drowning on World Drowning Prevention Day (25 July).
