Wednesday 13 August was a busy day for volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew from Newcastle, as they responded to two callouts within the space of two hours.

Volunteer crews from Lough Neagh Rescue (LNR) were tasked over the weekend to assist a catamaran that had capsized in challenging conditions and was partially submerged after taking on water in Kinnego Bay.

Newcastle RNLI was involved in a multi-agency rescue to come to the aid of a young calf that got stuck on rocks close to the Bloody Bridge, three miles south of Newcastle.
